Screwdriver Left In The Engine?

Can anybody confirm that it was a screwdriver that ruined the engine on N519LR, a Mesa CRJ-700. Its been so far fixed and sitting here in ATW for a few days now. Speculation has it that it was a screwdriver left in the number 1 engine. Upon take off from O'Hare enroute to Appleton, the pilots noticed a vibration but continued on into Appleton. When they arrived, the number 1 engine fan blades were obliterated and has been stuck here ever since. Like I said, the new engine is on and they have been testing it but just wondering if the speculated cause is correct.

Sounds fishy. A screwdriver left in the inlet would go through the fan at startup and probably not cause a whole lot of damage. It is possible though that said damage could have caused further damage at high power settings thus "obliterating" the fan. Of course this is just speculation.
