Intersting, I'd not read that AF were going to start withdrawing them from service yet, has anyone got a withdrawl schedule?

Inc F-GGEF, AF have/had 13 -111 frames

Surprising that only 7 photos of this aircraft are in the database.

Quoting Francoflier (Reply 6):
Is it the oldest A320 to be scrapped?

The first A320 to enter in service was Air France's F-GFKA, msn 5, still in service.

But F-GFKQ, msn 2, is older and also still in service with AF. It was used by Airbus for flight tests and demo flights before being delivered to AF.
Same thing for F-GGEG (ex-Air Inter), msn3, that was also retired from service last month with F-GGEF.

Ok, if I understand correctly, since msn 1 and 2 are still flying, and msn 3 is retired but not scrapped yet, then this is the oldest A320 to be scrapped...

Can you imagine being someone helped build that same plane and you could very well be the same person who helped take it apart.

The 11 A320-100 still in service will not remain for a long time. 2 of the oldest A320-200 (F-GHQA / QB) were also retired from service in Jan/Feb, though not to be scrapped.

Air France has begun to receive the first of the 30 A320/A321 ordered last year (5 A321 and 1 A320 since Jan.2008)

Well, depends what you mean. It is not THE oldest A320 that was scrapped, as the oldest A320 in service is still flying ... but from all the A320 that have been scrapped until now, it is the oldest one.  Wink

Yep, that's the one I meant. Sorry about the ambiguity...

Just for the sake of good order, F-GGEF is not being broken up, but carefully dismantled.
It looks like that Air France is getting spare parts for the remaining -111 in service and that Airbus will get so data on the ageing of the A320 structure.
