EK 412 was 7 hours late leaving Dubai on 28 Mar and will land at Sydney at 1.30pm on 29th. The onward flight to Christchurch has been cancelled and the return 413 will not operate at all. So it looks like the airplane will be grounded in Sydney.
Does anyone know what happened ?
And how pax will be re-routed ? Is there space on 419 ?
Interesting that EK418 DXB-BKK-SYD-AKL is arriving into AKL at 1940 some 4.5 hours late today, if it left AKL at 2100 it would get to SYD at 2220 but wouldn't be able to depart before SYD curfew at 2300. But what AKL airport says is that also DXB-MEL-AKL EK406 is delayed into AKL from 1340 till 1535 but EK407 is delayed from 1850 till 2045 ex AKL. I wonder what is happening here.

So the 777 (EK418) went to CHC as 412 at midday.
The 340 (EK 412) left at 4.00pm to AKL as 418. When it gets to Auckland it will turn around as the late 407 to Melbourne and Dubai.
The 777 at CHC will then come back to SYD as 413 arriving at 7.30pm and then will become 419 this evening from SYD.
EK406 arriving nto Auckand this morning will be 419 from Auckland to Sydney and then 413 from Sydney to DXB.
The joys of EK's trans tasman flights is that they can make these sort of changes. Only problem is that the EK website says: 413 is "cancelled - for information about your party please contact Emirates."
