According to justplanes.com...

India will give Lufthansa an additional 7 flight slots by 2003 in exchange for royalty payments to Air India.

Lufthansa will be allowed to add slots as follows :
2 new flights in summer 2001
2 new flights in summer 2002
3 new flights in summer 2003

Lufthansa will likely use the first 2 slots this year for A340 service from Frankfurt to Bangalore.

BTW, will LH fly to Chennai as well?

This topic was discussed in this forum already yesterday. The 2 first slots are for Bangalore service (not likely, they have no choice!).

Lufthansa already flies thrice weekly to Chennai/Madras with B747-400.
