Yes,767 was right-UA's pilot union has restrictions on 2-man flight crew hours on domestic flights.ORD-HNL must be over thier limit.A side note I'm flying UA ROC-LHI on 3.2.-can't wait-I need some warm weather!!I'm sick of the winter.I'm connecting thru ORD & LAX-look for some pic's next month.
p.s. I'll miss those -10's! I should have got more pic's when I was there in October

I am just making an observation here and it may be wrong but its just my guess. In my opinion AA sure is making out quite well from the other airlines retiring their trijets, for example AA used to compete DFW-HNL with DL, but DL has (or will be) pulling the DFW-HNL route and also AA competed with UA on the ORD-HNL but not anymore after tommorrow. By the way, who carries the most people to Hawaii of the US airlines? Is it AA or UA? Thanks

Flight 43 isn't being discontinued, it is being suspended. Once the pilot contract is amended allowing reliever crews on domestic flights, flight 43 will restart, most likely with a 777, from what I've heard.
