As of today the summer schedule is operable and LH made the start with six inaugural flights. The most popular one for sure was LH490 heading to SEA. Aircraft used on this route D-AIKF, an A330-300, which departed 10 minutes ahead of schedule and a full load  Wink

the other inaugurals today:

LH3418 FRA-GDN operated by LH Cityline D-ACPG CRJ700
LH3306 FRA-KRK also operated by D-ACPG
LH3126 FRA-BGO operated by LH Cityline D-ACPT CRJ700 in Star Alliance livery
LH4960 FRA-BRS by LH D-ABEA B737-300
LH3120 FRA-BLL by LH DABXM B737-300

for tomorrow we have another interesting one:

LH780 FRA-NKG with D-AIFF (A340-313X)

and the day after tomorrow...

LH562 FRA-SSG with D-AIKE (A330-300)

YYC, LAD and SHE ex MUC still to come...

however flights to CPT are suspended until next winther (as usual  Smile )

But it seems to be beneficial for both LH and LX.

LX now flies 3x ZRH-DLA-NSI instead of 2x ZRH-SSG-DLA and 1x ZRH-SSG-NSI.

So while LH took over Equatorial Guinea LX can concentrate on Cameroon. A win-win I think.

Totally agree.

However LH crews won't be too pleased, i heard that SSG was one of the least favorite destinations among LX crews, and they didnt even stay there overnight!

LH4960 FRA-BRS by LH D-ABEA B737-300
LH3120 FRA-BLL by LH DABXM B737-300

Weren't both flight planned to be operated by Eurowings (Lufthansa Regional) with BAe 146-300? B-737-300 on both routes seems quite a capacity upgrade if operated on a regular basis.

YYC will start flying daily into YYC on 14APR. The flight starts/ends at their FRA hub and not in MUC.

B733 only today and tomorrow on LH 4960 FRA-BRS. In future only Eurowings BAe 146-300 on FRA-BRS.

Billund will be served 3x daily, 2x with Eurowings BAe 146-300 and 1x with B737-500 (evening flight FRA-BLL, morning flight BLL-FRA).

Some more news:
* FRA-ALG: New flight 3x weekly with A319, LH 4122, Departure FRA 14:00
* FRA-ROV now with A319 (4x weekly)

expect the evening BLL flight all flights will switch to EW and 143 equipment during the next weeks. as I said the evening BLL run remains LH mainline and 735 a/c

edit: DABVF you beat me to it

Probably no doubt from reduced capacity/termination of other routes.

It's nice to see some more routes from BRS too (My old local airport), I'm sure to make use of these flights to go onto BRE from Frankfurt. Good to see them coming to NQY too, abeit for a short period in the summer.

Yes, at 1125 PDT, LH490 is about 40 min out....skd arrival is 1230, eta is 1215. The fuel spill that occurred this morning was near gate C16...and will not affect the LH operation, as they will operate out of the South Satellite.

Some more highlights:
* Starting today, LH will send A340-600 on MUC-PEK. First A340-600 on the way to PEK is D-AIHP.
* FRA-MAA now with A340-600 (instead of B747-400). Today it was D-AIHB.
* Starting tomorrow, LH will send B747-400 to IAH.
* Two daily A340-600 to ORD: LH 434 from MUC and LH 432 from FRA.

There were about a dozen enthusiasts at the water tower north of SEA today to watch the first LH landing. Unfortunately, the Tower controller was not as welcoming as the one for the first AF flight. LH 490 had to call in twice before the controller responded to him. But it was beautiful to see!  Smile

now can someone explain to me how LH starts flying to SSG, (an airport which serves a city with a population of 100,000 and about 35,000 passengers a year... in a country with merely 500,000 inhabitants... hey nothing personal, really)... before returning to BOG & LIM?!?!?

What's the deal here?

LH must now be the only transatlantic carrier with nonstop service to 5 cities on the West Coast (YVR, SEA, PDX, SFO, LAX). The closest is BA with service to 4 West Coast cities (YVR, SEA, SFO, LAX).

It's great to SEA Lufthansa expanding. I hope they do well on all of the routes.

On another note, in the future, it would really be nice if a.netters checked to see if the airport codes that they post for small unknown airports show up here on the website when you mouse over them, because otherwise, the airport codes do the common reader little good. Posting the airport cities is a lot nicer.
