I'm glad they kept the TK logo on the wingtips. Most of the current Star Alliance birds are not sufficiently identifiable by airline. SQ's is the best, in my opinion.

It looks okay but it would be better if they had used only the word TURKISH next to the logo. It would have made it a bit more bold.

yes thats right, I really hoped they also paint the engines in red (like UA in blue) but nevertheless it looks great

The a/c looks really nice in *A livery. But the engines seems soooo tiny.

I am sure Sanalpilot spotters (they have a huge potential!) will hunt that plane when she will make her debut tuesday. Then we will see more photos here on a.net.

BTW, I like it very much, A340 and Star Alliance livery is a very nice combination. I wonder if the winglets will stay the same.

Oh, and this plane is not one of the newly acquired Air Jamaica planes. The general expectation was that SA livery carrier would be one of them. Surprise.

Congrats to TK and Star. It is nice to see the TK 340 in this new scheme.
And yes -JDL has the upgraded interiors.
This is TK's flagship for sure.

The STAR livery is pretty boring and basic on all planes - the TK livery is nicer than the Star livery. I don't know why all this hype about just another white plane ...
The bean-counters have a word to say in airline-paints,but from a marketing point of view a little bit more fancy-ness would be appreciated on most aircraft paint-jobs!

Quoting Beaucaire (Reply 10):

Aesthetically yes, I agree with you. But seeing some deviations from the usual livery makes me excited even if this so called deviation is a pretty much standard Star Alliance livery. TK doesn't have much retro jets or fancy details on its euro white (except the 100th plane and the tulip figure) so this gives me a break from the routine.

On the other hand, I think people gets excited to see TK in a big alliance. It might be boring or even ugly, this livery is something symbolic and meaningful. The "big fuss" seems to be caused by that.

I actually never seen those pics before. I wish they would put those on a few of the A330's. The pics posted by Stylo777 are serious contenders for my next Desktop pic!!!

just search the database for TC-JLC and you'll come accross this beauty, but as I said, unfortunately this livery didn't last very long like LH retro or SK retro style, because -LC left the fleet in 2006 for MX

I hate to tell you this but that other aviation photo website already has a beautiful shot of the freshly painted -JDL already. Sorry I can't include the link, since this post will get deleted.

28 Post contains links and images TKfan : Great Idea, would look great, but I think its not possible to combine it with Star Alliance letters, on every Star Alliance paintsheme its the same.
29 Stylo777 : at the moment its the 332 for sure 'cause they have better seats and IFE (but I have to add that I'm not quite sure about the refurbished 343s)
30 LHStarAlliance : The StarAlliance really needs a new Livery , it's too boring !
31 Zvezda : The original Star Alliance livery was great, but abandoned when the number of members grew such that the bands would be too narrow. Perhaps they coul
32 LH431 : Is that the date when I can start to collect Status Miles on TK with Mi&Mo? Or is it different with every *A FT programme?
33 Post contains links OA260 : Since March 25, 2007 Turkish Airlines is a new partner of our Miles & More programme. From this time on you can look forward to fly to many destinati
34 JoFMO : But you can only earn status miles when they become a star member.
35 LH431 : There you go! No problem with award-miles but I was wondering about status miles. Thanks anyway!
36 OHLHD : Sorry but this one looks just as boring and shitty as all other Star Alliance painted aircraft. It is really time to get something new.
