AV has signed a preliminary agreement with QT to buy 100% of its shares for an undisclosed value. The Martinair sudsidiary will become part of AV (probably AV Cargo), and this ends rumours on the decision of Martinair to sell QT.
Also, it is planned that AV will have some sort of agreement with Martinair, after this transactino, which could be finished before the end of this semester.

Since I heard the rumour last year I thought it was going to materialize... it had all the sense of the world given Avianca's cargo intentions and Tampa's current situation.

Great news indeed but i wonder myself if the AV pilots will be happy with these news, cause in case of a fleet/pilot integration the pilot standings at the airline will become a mess, the QT pilots will be placed above of those who are Capt's and F/O in smaller equipments like the F50 F100 MD83 and even the A320 in the pilot antique/technical ranking. guess this wont happen if the pax and cargo pilots stay independent, but let's see how they will solve these problem.
BTW i heard a rumor from some AV pilots that say the MD83 will stay for a while, 5 of them will be gone and 10 will stay. any info on this ?

Great news! I am interested in knowing what cargo network AV Cargo will adopt. Which cargo routes are planned? Cargo business between Colombia and CUR seems to be growing, can we see AV Cargo flying to CUR as well?

I bet routes to Europe can be added, such as MAD. Also EZE and SCL in deep SA. I'm wondering if PTY might become a good place for a cargo only flight, also I bet they will consider CUR and come NA cities, like LAX.
