Saw this on the news yesterday and found the article that talks about it:

Associated Press - March 31, 2008 3:44 PM ET

PHOENIX (AP) - Phoenix police are investigating complaints of someone snatching items out of luggage at Sky Harbor International Airport.

Police say the complaints came from passengers whose luggage was either loaded or unloaded out of the airport's Terminal 3.

No arrests have been made.

Police say they've contacted the Transportation Security Administration and interviewed several members of a contract company working at Sky Harbor.

Police Detective Reuben Gonzales said Monday that investigators have confirmed that some items were indeed stolen out of luggage and later recovered.

Even though the news article didn't say it, the news reporter specifically mentioned Delta...

Some may not realize how serious that is. Bag handlers can't just hunt through people's property and think they're going to get away with it.

Hopefully they'll find these people and make an example out of them.

Didn't this happen a while back with some Continental employees in IAH?

This happened at ORD, just before I hired on in '71. 7 agents had been caught pilfering items out of bags and were fired. That's where the position came from that I filled. Used to be, three things you didn't mess with, with Delta......their liquor, their money and customers bags.

That must be why it took over an hour for our bags to come out on our JFK-PHX DL flight last summer. Thankfully, we keep nothing of interest in there.

Keep on truckin'...
