Hi all,

seen as scheduled in Amadeus.net:

J4-1402 BCN-VLC 11:50 12:45 CNJ
J4-1401 VLC-BCN 10:25 12:20 CNJ

J4 is the IATA code for Jet4you low cost carrier and in it's web site I cannot find any flight to / from Spain and is the first notice that this low cost carrier operates a Cessna Citation Jet aircraft (CNJ)  Wow!

Are there any chance that J4 will be the new IATA code of Universal Airlines, the low cost arm of Air Europa that is awaiting E95 aircrafts for delivery next month?

Any notice about these flights? Could be a mistake of Amadeus.net?

Thanks in advance,

Gerard

Quoting RAFVC10 (Thread starter):

Are you sure they operate Citation Jets? They usually operate 734s. Could the CNJ stand for the registrations, CN is the registration for Morocco.

Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  Wow!  Wow!

My bet... this airline, with prices from 600.00 Euros (BCN-VLC) will not finish this year.

Thanks for your help.

Regards,

Gerard

 Wow!

BCN-VLC will have 10 daily direct flights with J4 operating on the route... I think they just address the mass and hope someone will book with them... to reach breakeven at 590 Euros (RETURN ALL IN) with a Citation is quite a challange...

How does it come that some people try to operate SCHEDULED service with a Citation???

Doomed to fail. What it this airline some kind of tax write off for a multinational?

I'm no hot shot economist, just an occasional armchair CEO, but I can see this is just stupid.

You will need to operate near 100% load factors, which may seem easy given the very few seats, but the prices will surely scare off all but a small percentage of the population.

I think is a great mistake to try to compete with high speed train in a non-lucrative routes as we can see often and in this case, in the Barcelona - Valencia route and when Clickair and Vueling decided last year that was not profitable to operate it, leaving Air Nostrum and Spanair operating it.

The Air Nostrum case is very logical as Valencia is the main hub of the Iberia's franchisee and Spanair is illogical to use MD and 320 in this route with a load factor of 20 to 30%!!!

Euromed leaves you from Barcelona city center to Valencia in just three hours from 100.00 Euros in First class and with all the comfort that a train can give you.

I don't want to say again that this airline will fall before Xmas but if they decide to move to other market unserved from Barcelona or any other city in Spain, maybe can get some money to continue or to rewrite it's plans.

A Barcelona or Madrid route to Dubai would be a great choice.

Regards,

Gerard
