As we know that Air India has leased out B763 from Flyglobespan for BOM-LHR and AMD-LHR routes.
Is the lease ending soon ? and if it will then which airecraft would repalce it ??
I just flew on them.. its the worst product that I have seen ..

The plane is so old .. it make so much of noise .. None of the seats recline ... I tried atleast 15 seats and one they recline .. if i dont put full pressure on them and sit.. they come back to normal .. no PTV's ..one screen with the worst print on the projector. no inflight phone... very ok food .. so services between the main meal and snack .. not even water !
the lavratories is a different story !

is it this product that Air India is using to compete with Jet Airways .. British Airways and Virgin Atlantic .. the fare is like 20 or 30 pounds cheaper .. which is not a big difference even !!

What a SHAME .. is this what Star Alliance wants ?

The 767s were for additional capacity as AI is suffering from aircraft shortage at the moment. It is unfortunate that you had to endure a long flight on one of the leased 767s but I can assure you that Air India is improving its products considerably - just check out the new 777s and refurbished 744s. They will also receive 787s in the near future.

The A310's are old, but not "Rust-buckets" as they have been in continuous use over the years......

I am an Indian based in Saudi Arabia, this sector is served by Air India using A310 which are obviously very old. I fly frequently on this sector and most of the flights are at least 4 hours late and a minimum of over 18 hours late once in a month. 95% of the delays are due to technical snag. I am desperately looking forward to the delivery of 787 to AI as these newer aircrafts will replace A310.

Why I always choose AI is totally a different issue, however, the more the suffering  bomb  the frustration will be more which will obviously lead to ..........."Rust-buckets"  Big grin

I also agree with you as the interiors are good and flights are smoother.

The term "Rust-buckets" was coined by some innovative a.netters when AI took on lease some UA 772's which had spent some time "rusting" in the desert.....the A310's are old, but do not fall in the same category....ageing, tired, desperately in need of replacement, but not "Rust-buckets"...  smile
