Trying to help a friend flying on Delta Connection flight 7771 from RNO to LAX. She was told it was to land at gate 65...And her connecting flight to Cincinnati is gate 50B I believe..Does this sound right? Wouldn't gate 65 be in terminal 6 and 50B be in the terminal 5?

This is her first time flying thru LA, and I'd hate for her to be wandering around.

Hey

The Delta site is acting really buggy tonight. I can't get it to work tonight. Part of my problem.

I've clicked on it 7 times tonight. Working fine here. But yes, the 50 gates are in Terminal 5, and the 60 gates are in terminal 6.

Thanks. So if those gates she gave me are correct, she would have to leave the terminal and walk down to Terminal 5 and go back thru security?
Wow....what a pain in the butt. Some Delta "connection"

Hope I'm wrong.

Probably. Blame LAWA, not DL.

In most airports theres a way to get from one terminal to the other without going through security again (except if going international). The idea is the same as the subway - once your in the system you shouldn't have to exit and re-enter just to catch the next leg. If there's not a physical connection between terminals, a bus/shuttle is usually provided. Of course there are exceptions where none exist (MCO, for example, if I'm not mistaken).

Well, all went well. But she did say there was something "wrong" with the tunnel. Either that, or she just couldnt find it  Wink

But it was 10:00 pm, so she was able to exit the terminal, walk down to #5, then re-clear security, all in about 20 minutes.

Alls well that ends well.

Hey

You can go between some terminals in PHL, but not all.

If you are going between Terminals A and C (on CO) they run a shuttle bus...The AirTrain is outside of security...

They do the same thing at IAH, but the shuttle closes at some point. Not cool.

I wish they would do this at JFK, like have a sterile bus connection for SkyTeam, between Terminal 1 (departures) and Terminal 2/3 (DL)

Everything but Terminal E at PHL is connected beyond security. Not great for some WN passengers, but the only other airline affected by it is NW, who I'm guessing is pretty much all O&D at PHL. The walkway from D-to-E past security is being worked on as well.

The tunnel was open at 11 p.m. when I went through LAX at night about a month ago.
