I saw a United 733 land today and wondered why it wasn't a yellow/blue A320..that was around maybe 12:45p and I think it was registered as N172UA. Then around 5:30p I saw an American 763 on final (I was under it) and I think it was registered as N368AA or N386AA. anyone know why these two odd birds were in Sin City today? It didn't have anything to with the shutdowns, did it?

I don't see any 763s inbound to LAS from AA, just 1825 a 757 from MIA that landed at 6pm

No clue about the UA 733. Charter? Extra Section??

What now?

UA seems to be sending more mainline metal in these days.

Perhaps it was a TED extra segment PAX run.

Also if you're a mainline UA in LAS fan there is the morning LAS-IAD run, now UA 834 (755am-330pm) and the early evening 833 (505 PM-714pm) both with A320 equipment.

Don't you want to hang out and waste your life with us?

It wasn't a 757.. I know for sure it was a 767. It wasn't 1825 because I wasn't there at 6p. It's not listed because I saw it exactly 20 minutes after SN105 flew in..

I thought it was one of those, but I think it would have been more pronounced, ya know?

Cool. I'll try and catch it sometime soon. Thanks for that tip.

I know that in January and February, UAL was sending in many mainline painted A320s, not TED painted. This B733 may have just been a sub for a TED flight. In regards to the AA B763, they have been slipping them in to LAS here and there. I believe they are doing this when they have had a cancelled flight to give them extra lift. Last time I saw this was in December I believe when they had 2 B757s down in LAS and they brought in a B763 to replace the cancelled flights. I hope this helps.

I know for sure it was a 767.

Good catch on the Reg. number. N368AA flew AA455 ORD-LAX, but had a medical diversion to LAS. AA455 is normally a daily 763 flight.

Not for nothing, but AA 763s pop up from time to time at LAS as a sup. There was one there last week providing extra lift to ORD after the MD-80s were pulled out of service. It doesn't happen often, but it really isn't that rare either. FYI...

For the past 2 weeks, there have been AA 763's at LAS nearly everyday...Although not officially scheduled, they are quite common in LAS.

I'm usually there on Saturday's so forgive me for not seeing them everyday.
