Ocean Airlines And The 747-200F In ALA

Hello everybody,

title asks my question already. I have been to ALA recently and everytime I was there, I saw an old B747-200F standing on the apron in pretty good shape. Since October 2007 is looks like it has not moved at all! The fluids dripping from everywhere now on the ground!

Does anyone know what are they up to with her? Ocean Airlines website says they get "new" B747-200F from AF which are about to enter service. Does that mean they won't use this B747 in ALA never again?

Ocean Air is no more. IIRC, there is at least one 200F in HKG with no engines. The AF deal fell through due to $$ problems.

On interesting, becasue their website still offer everything and doesn't say anything about that they stopped flying! And the AF deal is right on the top of the website... And you can even trace your shipments...

IIRC, they stopped around the beginning of Dec. The aircraft in HKG was impounded for nonpayment and the engines which were leased were taken off.

They supposedly filed for administration in Jan and have been trying to get some investors to come with money. You might be able to track shipments, but I don't think there are any shipments to track. However, they could be putting the cargo, if any, on other carriers.

I've been through HKG numerous times and the 200F hasn't moved in months.
