I just wanted to see what ya'll thought about some of the new color schemes. The best, and the worst.
I'll start off with what I consider the worst livery. I shall bestow this honor on Middle East Airlines (no offense CedarJet). Although I like MEA, I find their new livery incredibly ugly! The all white fuselage with the type-writter-font "MEA" on the side wasn't exactly a leap of creativity. Adding insult to injiry is the lonely cedar tree on the tall; actually, it dosent even look like a cedar tree ... more like bushy green shrub. The two baby cedar trees on the engine pods look rediculous and out of place. All in all, just a bad design.
I think the best liveries are that of Air Canada and United Airlines. Air Canada's tail is awesome! United uses good color combinations, along with the classic orange, red, blue thin stripe along the side. The over all effect is sleek, and classy.
Also, I hate these new "modern" schemes that seem to emphasize snazzy writting and wild paint stokes, e.g., Varig and Britsh Airways (World Schemes). I feel the more sleek, elegant look is best for an airliner. An obnocsious livery cheapens the integrity of the aircraft. Anyone agree? What do you guys think?

I agree with your comments about MEA. I think that UA's livery is gaudy, and too complicated. Air Canada has a wonderful tail. It would be nice to see that type of creativity applied to the fuselage. I love TWA's new colors. They really look great, especially on the 757.

I think Air Canada has a good scheme, and I think the fuselage, although fairly plain, looks pretty good. I think their tail is also very good, but I wish that green colour on the tail looked a little more like the deep forest green colour its supposed to be, not so black.
Also, Canadi>n's new livery is good. I just despised their old one, but their new one is pretty nice. I'm not sure I like it more than AC's, but I really find it quite appealing. The only problem is looking at it from certain angles the goose looks a little wrong, but at a good angle its quite nice. I also really like the return to the goose logo, which dates back to the days it was Canadian Pacific, and earlier to its forerunners.
Also, Cathay Pacific is quite attractive.
Probably one of the worst liveries I have ever seen would be Southwest's.

The majority of aircraft seen here are plain white fuselages, thanks to Ansett, Qantas and Air New Zealand... they're getting a bit boring now!!
Here, it's great to see Singapore Airlines' colours, the old BA, United (the grey IS a bad idea, but it still looks good), I like Canadian's older colours, China Airlines' new colours, JAL's Resort Express 747s.
Other great ones: America West, TWA,
Ones that "take a while to like": new Virgin colours, new Canadian, new SAS.
Dull/boring ones: National, MEA (you're right!), Air France, Alitalia, Delta, Northwest, ANA, Sabena

I don't care too much for USAirways new color scheme. The dark blue makes it very hard to see. The best current livery is either TWA or Continental. My all time favorite color scheme is the blue and green of Air Florida or the pink and blue cloud scheme of Northeastern International.

Everyone who has responded thus far has failed to mention one of the classiest, and most elegant liveries in the air today: AMERICAN AIRLINES! I believe AA has one of the best color schemes flying today. The silver stainless steal image reflects strengh and power, but also eminates elegance and prestige. I especially appreciate the color scheme on the newer aircraft, in which the tail and engine pods are represented in a soft shade of gray. The shiny silver, coupled with the enlightening gray gives an impressive color contrast that looks great on any aircraft.
The worst scheme must go to Southwest. The next generation 737's deserve more respect than to be dressed in a spoiled mustard yellow paint scheme.
I would like to agree with CaptFantastic, MEA looks like the livery was chosen from an art contest amungst 3rd graders, and the loser won!
I'm all in favour of keeping dangerous weapons out of the hands of fools. Let's start with keyboards.

I realize that probably no one will agree with me, but then again I was asked for my opinion and here it is:
I do agree that United's color scheme is quite attractive and classy...I only wish that the logo on the tail coulda been a lil larger
American and Southwest; long overdue for new colors although all of the SW special jets are appealing
Delta; Their old colors were not that attractive and the new ones aren't really that much different, however a new coat of paint will make anything look good
America West; I liked their old and their new colors equally. The blue pin stipes with the AW on the tail to me was a very "professional" image.
I liked US Air's old colors much more that US Airways. However for a US Air plane to look good in those old colors, it must be freshly washed...the bare metal gets dirty and seems to show it more easier than a painted surface.
Northwest; To me, it looks like a bowling shoe in bad taste.
Alaska Airlines; Equally tied with America West O/C as my favorite

My favorite new scheme is UA's, i love the scheme. I think it looks especially good on the 722s. I think the worst old scheme is AC's old scheme. I think the best new schemes are UA and DL. I think the best old scheme is DL, i liked that design.

It is a little confusing to see people listing up Megacarrier after Megacarrier, especially the US ones, when there are many wonderful schemes out there that no other Airline applying (european-)white or (us-)grey/silver scheme can ever compete with.
Probably you dont know what I'm talking but have you heard of Air Tanzania? Breathtaking!
Or Ethiopian Airlines. It even originates from the 1950s and looks amazing on just every aircraft type.
And very funny actually to complain about MEA's livery and then come up with Air Canada - excellent joke!
MEA's livery is even more colorful than Air Canada's, well, imagine it has a black (yes i know, greeen) tail as well.
And Canadian is nice, but it'll be interesting how ridiculous that mighty goose will look on the tail of a DC-10...

My favorite airline liverys: (in no particular order)
--Royal Jordanian--their new livery looks great! The crown...wow!
--Air Tanzania--the giraffe on the 767-200 tail...now that is a great looking plane!
--Air Seychelles--professional, classy, GREAT to photograph, and easy and fun to look at!
--Saudi Arabian-- their new livery speaks for itself. Just look at their new 747-400's...wow!

Southwest have the worst in my opinion, great airline, but terrible livery! Except for the special liveries, ie the Whales and the Lonestar. The Orange, red...yuck! Gotta go.
The best? Just something about those shiney silver AA planes! Alaska and Horizon have the good looking swoosh logos going-but that's a biased opinion. Air Canada and the new maple leaf is really nice as well.
