Anyone have an idea why AE has a CR7 on the West coast? I was waiting to see the Olympic Air China depart SFO today and behold was a AE CR7 landing. But instead of going to the gates it proceeded to the Super Bay Hangar. As you can see its gone TUL-LAX-SFO-SBA. Any AA insiders?

Probably shuttling around parts or mechanics esp since it started in TUL.

I know I read earlier that they were flying mechanics around to places without mtc to look at the MD80's. Makes sense, like LAXintl said, that it started in TUL. However, no idea why it went from SFO to SBA....

There's a daily Eagle CR7 flight SBA-DFW. Perhaps the SFO-SBA segment was repositioning it for that flight?

Looks like it went into SBA for the repositioning back into the scheduled system since the westbound DFW-SBA leg on Wednesday night was cxld.

There have been some interesting movements at AA over the past day or two to compensate for the MD-80 grounding.

An Eagle ERJ flew DFW-LAX last night to reposition mainline crews & maintenance.

An extra 777 segment on DFW-ORD was flown last night to help clear out some of the passenger backlog too.
