I was checking out the interiors of the Jet Airways Premiere on the B773 and Air Canada's new Exceutive First and they same to be the exact same seats with different covers. Howcome they offer the same product ?

Also .. can the B777 modles take a 2-3-2 configuration in Business Class.. i feel why are the new planes having the 1-2-1 lay out !!

Many 777s have 2-3-2 in business class but they are the traditional reclining seats (not flat beds) and any business class with a middle seat is not a very attractive product. The "herringbone" 1-2-1 flat-bed layout used by AC on their 777s (and 1-1-1 on their 763s) is much better and makes good use of the available floor space. It also gives every passenger direct access to an aisle without climbing over another sleeping passenger.

They are both based on B/E Aerospace's Solar product however, the Jet Airways version is slightly wider than Air Canada's I believe.

Similar in how the seats are arranged, but I believe the execution is very different. Basically the VS seat is a leather covered seat on one side and has a 'proper' matdress on the other side. One has to stand up and flip the seat through 180degrees to use it as a bed. The seat DL/AC/9W uses reclines into a bed.

True you fit fewer port to starboard but by compensation you fit more fore/aft, so the 'pitch' on these seats, when measured by traditional considerations is tiny, probably less than 25"!

Brian.

Next flights: MAN-ORK-LHR(EI)-MAN(BD); MAN-LHR(BD)-ORK (EI); DUB-ZRH-LAX (LX) LAX-YYZ (AC) YYZ-YHZ-LHR(AC)-DUB(BD)

Essentially AC, 9W and the new DL Biz Elite Seat are identical in terms of design and functionality. VS & NZ are similar in design (and layout), but normal seat recline is limited, as the seats on these two carriers flip into the bed position.

You made a slight mix up here- "Solar" is actually made by Contour Premium Aircraft Seating. Cathay Pacific's new herringbone business class is the one produced by B/E Aerospace. See the news release here:

Yes. The 9W version is wider than AC's.

Correct! And same is the case with NZ's new BusinessPremier. These seat/bed-convertible seats also offer more space in bed-configuration giving you more than 2 meters length to stretch out. Very comfy...  yawn   veryhappy
