Philippines will receive in the next 4-5 months , 6 Q400s and 9 Q300s , to promote tourism in the rural parts of the country.
Planes sourcing not disclosed.
Probably these 6 Q400s will come from SAS.
There is a confusion about these 6 Q400s sold in the Philippines.
It has been reported these 6 planes has been sold to Air Philippines , but in fact , as ATWonline already mentionned some days ago , they will find a home with Philippines.

Air Philippines (2P) and Philippine Airlines are both owned by the same person. PR is merging 2P and will be calling it Philippine Air Express.

Well, as all the other media reports talk about 9 aircraft, 3Q300 and 6 Q400, for PAL, the deal obviously breaks down into 6 factory-fresh Q300s ordered by Air Philippines in 2007 and 9 second-hand examples now ordered by PAL (the deal is worth 150m, and there is no wa you can get 6 new Q400s and 3 new Q300s for 150m).

Actually, local media reported the mix to be 3 new Q300s, and 6 used Q400s from SAS which would probably get refurbished first by Bombardier before onward delivery - for a total of nine aircraft.

Quote: According to Bautista, the Bombardier Q-300 series will start coming in sometime next week and will have its maiden flight, if all systems go, on Sunday, April 6.
Well, the delivery schedule suggests that these are either white tails or used aircraft - or form the intial Air Philippines order.
Also, if they were new, the 6 Q400s would sell for under 100m or for roughly 16m a piece which I find not very likely.
