Quoting Flying-Tiger (Thread starter): Have heard a rumour that Astraeus is going to place an Airbus order this month. Anyone able to confirm?
Yes, they will place an Airbus order;
The company operates a fleet of 737 and 757 aircraft from ILFC, Gecas and Awas, and plans to order Airbus aircraft in April.
"We are quite excited about the A320s," says Monnery. "The industry order book is extending beyond five or six years and anyone ordering new aircraft from the manufacturers is speculating. We want to lease aircraft to airlines that are waiting for new aircraft to be delivered in five years' time."
Monnery adds: "An oversupply and the softening of lease rates are positive developments. Listed lessors are building value in future portfolios. They have big order books and as long as aircraft demand stays up, leasing will continue to be a good business."
