I recently graduated from the CTI program at Middle Tennessee State University. And I DO NOT RECCOMEND it. I have been screwed over to the point where me and my parents have thought about legal action against the university and Aerospace Dept. My formal degree is in flight dispatching and scheduling, where I don't even have my ATP. The Dept "lost their accreditation" in the last part of fall of 06, but didn't realize it until that following spring when my and 70 other students were preparing to take our oral. We had already taken our written the following fall. The FAA wouldn't accept the class time hours. The school got reaccredited and told us we could retake the hours in one week. Either in the beginning of the summer or the ending of the summer. Some of my classmates made went ahead and completed it. I opted to take the one week at the end of the semester. After a summer full of school including physics and calculus you can imagine I was pretty burned out at this point. Another week of doing flight plans by hand was not somethine I wanted to do. But I went and it was just like before. The teacher still had no clue what she was doing to the point that I walked out. I needed a vacation before my final semester started that next week. Well I graduated this past december. Here it is almost 5 months later, and my advisor is just now sending in my reccomendation and paperwork to the FAA. Meanwhile all my classmates I graduated with this past December have already been assigned a facility, and been interviewed. If any parents or high school students are thinking of going ATC through the CTI process DON'T GO TO MTSU!!!!!!!!! The head of the program doesn't know her head from her a@#.
