yesterday i took an easyjet flight(see trip reports), the flight home was late so they borded us in a hurry. while i was putting my seatbley on, sitting at an exit row, the fa told me not to put my seatblet on. i thought this was because i was at an exit row, then a few minutes later she told the rest of the pasengers to keep their seatbelts off becasue the aircraft was still being refueled. after a couple of minutes she told us to put them on because refueling had finished.
anyone have any ideas why this happens, is it just an easyjet thing, do southwest do it stateside????
cheers,
mike

That is indeed true. It is a standard procedure to have the seat belts not fastened during refueling, as they want the passangers to be able to get of the aircraft as fast as possible in case of an emergency.
