Hi Cabinboy!

BA do not fly to Marakech

Easyjet and Atlasblue fly out of Gatwick and Royal Air Maroc out of Heathrow

Cheers!

It used to be run by GT and wasn't taken over by mainline after GT were sold to U2.

Shame.

Is there any chance that BA will ever return to Morocco?

I doubt it, BA just dont think its profitable enough for them to fly Morocco. I'm sad to see them end their quality service to Morocco, and although AT do offer a good service, their prices are just too high, especially if your flying into CMN or TNG from LHR during the summer.

Regards

I've heard many people say that AT isn't a good airline, the service is bad and the fares are too high. I usually fly AF or LH to CMN, AF has better fares and more flights. LH only flies there five times a week and the time of the flight isn't good at all (around midnight) the fares are slightly higher than AF but they serve a hot meal instead (AF serves a cold snack). On the intra-european sector AF serves the same meal as on the CMN flight, LH only serves a sandwich. On the other hand FRA is a much nicer airport than CDG and my luggage has never been lost on LH.
I'm flying ARN-CDG-CMN on AF this summer, the flight arrives at The new terminal 2 at CMN, how is the terminal?

Well to be honest, AT is a better airline in comparison to others in Africa, and i do like the "Moroccan" feel to their aircraft, service, and food. I believe the fares are ok, it just depends on when you book at. As with most airlines, the earlier you book, the cheaper the flights. Yes AT cannot compete with their european counterparts such as IB, BA, LH, AF-KLM etc, yet they still seem to have a good service in my opinion.

Terminal 2 at CMN is a great improvement to the current T1, It looks modern, with hints of Moroccan architecture. Passport control is less stressful and the baggage re-claim area does have a less "busy" feel to it. I also believe it has more jet-ways, which to us a.nutter is a bad thing as you dont get a good view of the aircraft, but to most people it is a convenience.

easyJet itself did not take over the route. It might a problem with traffic rights? Or am I wrong.
All ex GT services to Morocco were not taken over by BA or U2...

And I can hardly imagine that TUN is more profitable than CMN!

Next flights : BRU-ZRH-CAI (LX)/ BRU-FCO-TLV (AZ)

Are the new jetways capable of handling large widebody aircrafts or are they still using the remote stands?

There maybe some truth in that, it just seems so strange that no routes into morocco have been taken up by U2 or BA. Like you said, probably something to do with AT paying some extra "taxes" to delay BA or U2 application for services from the UK.

Air France doesn't fly to RAK anymore.
The 2 x Daily services ORY-RAK-ORY were transferred to Transavia-France since last March 31st.

The new Terminal 2 is A380 capable. The gates have double jetways, however there are used to cater for 2 aircrafts simultaneously instead of 1 large aircraft such as A380 which I doubt we will see in CMN anytime soon anyway.
