Hey all,
I just on JetBlue N276JB from IAD-JFK. When they announced the boarding they said the tvs and XM were not working. They said they would not fix it or we would be delayed.
For an hour flight, it really didn't matter. Sure it was annoying but go with the punches,
My question though, when the gate agent made the announcement, he said the B6 would be e-mailing us refunds as an apology. Is this true? The fa's had no idea about it. What should I expect?

We got $25 vouchers on a RIC-BOS flight when the IFE was shot...not bad considering I only paid $29 for my ticket!

Not a refund, but some sort of voucher for a future flight. B6 is very good about that sort of thing when something is wrong with the aircraft.

I've been on a couple of transcon flights where IFE was not functioning properly (it's freaky to see the map with 5 ft altitude and 0 mph ground speed, among other things), no refund was ever issued.

They normally send $15 vouchers I believe. If you were on a flight without TV, or if your specific TV wasn't working (which they do have logs of and they can verify), you can call Customer Service and they will issue the voucher for you if it wasn't received. I have friends that have had the same situation occur. They even got a $15 voucher on a flight from JFK-BOS without TV's.

I don't believe JetBlue issues credits if the only thing not working right is the flight map, since for most customers that's just not a major consideration. If the entire TV system isn't working, then they do. I've been on flights where the LiveMap glitched just as you describe, but the rest of the system worked fine.

Thanks everyone for the help.
I already heard from JetBlue and received a $15 credit. This is why they are the best---responsive, fast, caring customer service. The rest could learn something.

Quoting Live2fly83 (Reply 3): yes B6 and VX usually give a credit when IFE isnt functioning properly
in january I was on a VX transcon LAX-IAD and the IFE did not work nor did the beverage service. Needless to say with more than a million miles on UA, the only reason I flew VX was for the IFE. I did not receive and did not hear any VX people offer a refund, and believe me we were all pissed!! Is this something which can be done after the fact, even several months later because I am planning to fly IAD-LAX-IAD in May and a voucher could go a long way in restoring my confidence in their service

Flew BOS-SAN and the reason was "satellite upgrades"

Well, that was just one of the troubles, they actually restarted the system two times, and there were still problems with it. I'm not saying that I should've gotten some kind of reimbursement. jetBlue is already much better than most airlines in terms of their service, and I don't want to abuse my customer rights when oil is 117 dollars a barrel.

I'm wondering if the OP meant 267JB; 276JB is registered as a Raytheon B300 manufactured in 1998:
While 267JB is registered as an Embraer E190 manufactured in 2007...so yes, if this is the case, then 267 is new to B6.

Hope this helps, please correct me if I'm wrong!

My experience on a DL 757 can top that: the eFX system had many channels showing something along the lines of "Please Contact Dish Networks to renew your service" and one of them that did work, "Animal Planet," was actually showing BET!

We had it happen on a flight from HOU to JFK in February. We have been using them on the side for our New York flights over CO because of the parking and less traffic at Hobby Airport. They sent a partner and I $25 vouchers and a very nice letter. The system worked about 2/3rds of the way there and became a mess. They just shut it off. JetBlue earned a little respect with us. It's nice to see they want to actually keep our business. We do have an employee who tries to use them a lot. He just loves them. I love XJT and most of our employees fly them when needed. Our main carrier is still CO.
I think JetBlue offers a pretty good service over all.
