Quoting BALHRWWCC (Reply 5): Rumours are that TFS/SSH/DLM/JMK and HER are all been looked at for summer 09. Aswell as increased frerquency to AGP/FAO/ALC and IBZ
Will there be more over nighters or dropping of other flights?

With the current A320 orders going to LHR. This will release some A319's. BA may cut a couple of domestic flights ex LGW or LHR aswell as possibly cutting back on High frequency routes such as FRA/AMS/GVA/BRU frequency ex LHR that use A319's and add more A320's to minimise the capacity change.
Remember BA currently operate 11xdaily from LON to FRA this includes 3xdaily LCY. BA could cut this to 9xdaily and possibly add an extra daily peak service to LCY. Also BA from 6th May will operate 17 x daily LON/AMS this includes
5xdaily to LGW and 4xdaily to LCY. So once again off peak flights could be cut ex LHR or LGW to free up a/c.
BA are already cutting one BRU service (From 8 to 7) from the timetable as of winter 08/09 and they are also switching back the WAW service to LHR and cutting frequency to 2 daily ex LHR and 1 ex LCY.
It is well rumoured that BACF will add another 3-4 a/c over the next year to boost and start new services to LCY. NCE is doing far better than the management expected. BCN and WAW forward sales are also well above expectations. BACF may start routes that already operate ex LHR or LGW so that frequencies can be cut and a/c freed up on the airbus fleet.

Any more rumours of BA starting TFS - LPA and ACE this winter 08/09 ?
Must be considering TFS at least ? Was very surprised it was not on the original list when they split from GB ?
All the above flights were always 90% loads when ever i flew on them , with at least 20 in Club
BA must be able to make money out of these routes surley , only thing i can think is that they are waiting to see what EZY are doing before comiting themselves ?

Anyone in the no ?
The real problem at the moment has been lack of suitable slots and a/c to operate the routes. BA took delivery of another A320 G-EUUV yesterday and will add another 11 A320's during 08. At present there is no plans to operate A320's ex LGW. However we all know what BA are like for changing there mind. The new deliveries will hopefully result in the move of more A319's to LGW.
Yes BA could make money on these routes. GT A320's used have around 20 more seats than the mainline A320's so filling a 737 or a A319 would be easy. They have said that they are currently reviewing all the ex GT routes including the ones currently served by BA. Can't see TFS etc starting now b4 Winter 08 however possibly Summer 09.
Also rumours are BA will use the 16 options it has left for the A320 family by the end of the year.
Also two more Longhaul routes are in the advanced planning stage and could be announced for Summer 09 timetable

Quoting Stylo777 (Reply 1): seems that VLC is growing more and more. Lufthansa recently opened FRA-VLC additionally to their existing DUS-VLC and HAM-VLC flights.
Did FRA-VLC on LH not exist for a while? I flew that route in 1993. I didn't know that it has disappeared.

Quoting B742 (Reply 3): Valencia however will be operated by the 737 from LGW.
VLC-LGW will be an O&D so mainly competing against LCC's like U2.
Even though I know slots are LHR are pure gold it's a shame they don't do VLC from LHR instead of LGW, would get good feed from IB customer base in Valencia area connecting on to BA long haul network.

Quoting Sam1987 (Reply 13): BA2476 LGW-VLC Dep 12:15 Arr 15:35 Daily Boeing 737 jet Club Traveller
BA2477 VLC-LGW Dep 16:20 Arr 17:45 Daily Boeing 737 jet Club Traveller
Schedule confirms my thoughts, not even fitted to connect on to the new LGW-JFK
Quoting Sam1987 (Reply 11): So OPO will have 132 seats per day, whilst VLC is more flexible depending on which 737 is used? Do we think a 734 might be used?
It is planned to be operated using a 737-400 as most of the 300's and 500's will have left the fleet by the end of 08
