was just searching around the Aer Lingus website, and noticed that they are offering fares to STL. Does Aer Lingus already fly to STL directly, or could this be a little foreshadowing of something to come from B6?

When you search it has connection at ORD to and AA flight to STL. Also, no Aer Lingus does not fly to STL directly. Aer Lingus's direct Ireland to USA services are BOS, ORD, JFK, LAX, MCO, SFO, and IAD.

Unless it was on the B6/EI map accessed from the site, this is not a sign that either one is going to STL. However, I'm sure that B6 will enter STL and MSP soon. Those markets have enough O&D where they can support more than one airline on routes to BOS, JFK, MCO, FLL, or anywhere else B6 would fly from there.

Are you forgetting about what happened the last time a competitor tried running MSP-NYC (in that case LGA) against NW? There's a thread about it right now. AA got run out of town.

Yes, I did, and I have responded on it. But AA isn't as big in NYC as DL, US, and B6 are, and they didn't have any connections.

True, and they were also flying much larger aircraft. However, I doubt B6 would take the risk yet. Especially with all the NW/DL chaos going on, no one knows what is going to happen to MSP. Would it get bigger? smaller? Plus, would there be enough publicity around MSP to get people to actually fly B6 instead? There's this thing called customer loyalty, and NW has a lot of it at MSP
