Qatar Airways will take delievery of the last A330 in its order books. This marks a milestone in QR fleet as it operates one of the world's biggest A330 fleets. Congrats QR, and its a wonderful A330-300!

Thank You Fred for the photo

The next Airbus wide-body to be built for QR would be the mighty A380! Afterwards, the A350!

According with http://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/Qatar%20Airways.htm ... there are 20 A332 and 13 A333. Subtypes, C/N and regs are at http://www.airfleets.net/flottecie/Qatar%20Airways-active-a330.htm

Yep, now they'll get all their 777s, later A380, 787s, and A350s. However, I wouldn't rule out that they'll get more A330s, leased or bought, with those 787 delays.

There was a time when QR's backbone were the A320's, now they are surely the A330 series. QR's A330's have been one the best I have traveled ( followed by EY).

With the delays of the B787, IMO QR will go for a mix of A330 and maybe some A32X's.

Didn't QR say that they want to get rid of the A340 fairly soon? I guess with the 787 delay, these plans might be shelved.

Exceptions confirm the rule.

Oh sorry was not specific!

By the term 'backbone' I meant the destinations it covered. The A320 served all the Indian subcontinent destinations and the GCC destinations. The A300's served less number of destinations as they were deployed on long haul routes.

did they? I'm curious as they only have four A340-600s in their current fleet.

I saw the bird performing some Go-around and RTO in TLS 10 days ago.

Nice livery, I wasn't aware it was their last A330 though.

Now Doha airport has to meet the expectations...

Its true though.

Indeed: have read an article in Aviation Week & Space Technology recently where the CEO stated the A340-600 will be replaced by the 777-300ER...
