Pope Is Flying To Ciampino?

I was monitoring the Popes departure from JFK today and noticed his flight is landing at Ciampino instead of Fiumicino. I was not aware that airport could handle such a large aircraft. I know the plane is practically empty, but don't you think one would want a little more stopping distance, or is 2207 meters enough?

Airplanes are only as good as the people who fly&fix them.
