I just noticed Zoom 767-300 will fly Helsinki-Phuket charters next winter for the Finnish tour operator Lomamatkat.
I think it's a handsome looking a/c, good to see new colours at HEL:

Is it just going to be luck that decides which one passengers get to fly on? I know which one I'd choose!

You just have to choose to right day and flight A332 flies 6x weekly to HKT, it will be a brand new a/c with a generous seat pitch, two classes... would be my choice too absolutely.

But I thought that leisure flights by Finnair, they pack the seats in pretty tight? I know that ZX flights the pitch will be 31' or 36' if seated in the premium sections....

Yes AY 757's are tightly packed  crowded  but according to AY's web site the seat pitch is different on A332:
32"-33" in Y class and 38" in 'Comfort Class'. I guess the passengers are ready to pay for the better seats, though the growing charter capacity means there will be good deals available next winter, I believe. Thailand has become a very popular winter destination, Finns and other Nordics need their sun therapy in the mid winter...

I really do hope this is the case! But I can really see AY packing them in if they will reserve one two aircraft with leisure config... but I guess we'll see.

The new A332 is leased for the winter season 2008-09 from XL, I don't think they will change the seating as it already advertised as a 'lux charter'.
The A333's replacing the MD-11's in the scheduled service from 2009 is a different product naturally.

That's a tech stop in Ahmadabad. Also Jaipur in India been used by the Finnair long charters (B752) to Asia. Last season also Air Finland (B752) served HKT, they flew via Abu Dhabi. There are more direct charters nowadays, but the B752's keep on flying, their longest charter route goes from HEL to Panama City, via Halifax.

From AY's web site:
http://www.finnairgroup.com/group/gr...up_11_2_1.html?&Id=1203672378.html

Finnair's tour operator Aurinkomatkat (Suntours Ltd) is the main user of the A332, they have been promoting the new product. Finnair will sell individual seats, available by the 30th? of May here, their Leisure Flights page (also linked from the main page):

That is correct, the first flight operates on the 22nd of May with a stop at BDA with pretty good fares! I'm impressed.

SAN starts on the 20th of June non-stop!

Both flights operated with the 767-300.
