Hi,
I read on another forum that the 777 was on a C Check being done by Delta, probably AM personal is not yet certified to perform that kind of maintenance, I really don't know.
AM has 4 777:
N745AM Deliver new from Boeing
Great Pics! I'm torn between which livery I like more. I thought that the new one had won me over, but the old one looks stunning in the second picture.

The new one is a disgrace, although necessary for the composite based 787. But by dispensing with the bare metal, AM is dishing out 35 years of a stunning livery tradition. Shame really. I wished they had kept the livery and only painted the 787's in a grayish scheme, a la American with the A-300's.

Personaly, I don't think the new one is that bad, but yes the old one is much, much better....

Not yet, not long ago N745AM was ferried CDG-ORY and we all thought it was going thru paint but it was only a C check, most probably when it gets its D check it will go into the paint shop.

It is a disgrace lol AM could have simply used the fake-metal paint NW uses. Even AA's A300 used to look just fine in gray. I think the 787 would've looked 10 times better like this than in that new "scheme"
Call me a geek but man, that AM 777 in the metallic looks gorgeous. I think I'm in love

Does anybody have news on the interior retrofitting of the two ex-RG birds? If I am not mistaken, AM had some problems with the interior configuration of ex-PP-VRA and decided to stick with the old RG seats (in business class at least, not sure about economy).
On a related subject, can anyone confirm that AM is getting more 767s and all of the 767s will have their interiors reconfigured so that the pitch, the IFE, the seats, etcetera are the same as in the 777s?
One more question. I am flying MEX-GRU with AM on Thursday, May 8 (AM 0014, 23:30 local time departure) and it is shown as a 777-200ER. I remember the Thursday flights were often done with 767s. Can anybody with some inside info confirm if I am going to be lucky to fly the 777?

Quoting EXAAUADL (Reply 12): Im surprised they need C-Cheks already? How many hours do they need to do that.
Aircraft go through the 'A' Check every 350 to 650 hours which is about once a month and the largest maintenance exercise 'C' Check gets scheduled every 15 to 18 months which involves a thorough inspection of the aircraft structure with system tests. The general overhaul of aircraft (D-Check) is done once in five to ten years depending upon the age and flight history.
Only on oil so far and only for the next 7 years if the mess at PEMEX is not sorted out soon and definitely not on gasoline and I don't know if in Jet-A. I wouldn't think so.
I thought AM had good maintenance. Why did they contract it out ?

Thank Gasca Neri and Conesa. They slashed so many MX staff since October 2003. AM no longer has in-house paint. Perhaps for the small B767-777 fleet is money wiser to outsource their mx with AF or DL.

Apparently one of the above received the new seats while the other one will only get new seats towards the end of 2008. Could anyone confirm?
Could anyone also inform me whether there is a specific B777 allocation so that ex-RG only operate GRU while the new B777 operate CDG?
Thanks,
