EN May Take Over All US Outsourced Stations

One of my friends at EN got a memo that Piedmont is being asked to take over all of the outsourced customer and ramp services for all US Airways stations.

This sounds pretty good since EN is a wholly owned subsidiary and might help with operational needs.

But I wonder if this is limited to the East, cause Mesa handles most of the West though.

The question I have is, Air Wisconsin has a great ground handling operation (The best of anyone in the United System, and not bad for NW either), and they are the biggest regional carrier in the USAirways system, why are they not doing any ground handling at all for US? This would make a lot of sense, particularly in PHL, where they basically dominate the non prop gates in F.

But EN is tightly knit and goes strictly by US operations. They do all Express handling in LGA/BOS/DCA/CLT/PHL, with exception for PSA in PIT.

and Mesa in PHX (LAS is just handled by mainline US)

I think US wants in-house operation thus saving money since EN staff is all non-union

PSA's been gone since January 5th. US mainline does all ground ops here now.

EN is also the code for Piedmont Airlines (US Airways Express)
