Noticed this bird sitting down on our west ramp on my way into the office this morning.....I heard second-hand that the Emir of Qatar and/or his wife spent last night in Houston, were heading off somewhere, and decided to come to New Orleans for the day and go shopping. Here are some pictures I took earlier today...

I could be wrong but was there not Qatar Amiri Flight metal at MSY for the 08 NBA All Star game? I know that the QOC sent a delegation there, including the Chairman who frequently uses A7-AAM.

So THAT is one of the a/c that UPS has parked on their ramp in MEM on any random day of the week, usually next to a 74. No 74 tonite, (left last nite), but there was an A340 w/activity around when I left work. Glad to know what the hell kinda plane I've been staring at for so long now. Thanks y'all!

His "shopping trip" was to see what $100 millions in reconstruction aid to New Orleans buys... Other than a stop at Xavier though, he didn't get out of his car.

That's a classic! G650, just for the record, when I saw your original question about the GLEX I looked at the full size pic and also came to the conclusion it was indeed a bizjet tail !! Oops!

I'd posted the clarification in a post that got deleted as part of a group of posts that got deleted for going off on an unnecessary tangent.....here's the reference to his stop from yesterday's paper that I posted yesterday: http://www.nola.com/news/index.ssf/2...amir_visits_to_observe_impact.html
Quoting YOWza (Reply 22): all QR Amiri Flight metal is in QR colors.
I don't recall seeing the GE here during the All-Star game, but I also didn't look too closely at the corporate/GA stuff that was here then, so I might have missed him...
As an aside, the A340 is still here...

Very funny. You both must be getting old!
