I have aquestion that might seem silly, but I watched ( I have no life) that on the LAX live cam, a Qantas 747 was pushed back from the T4/TBIT area this morning around 950am presumably flight 107? and it still sits at the present time.... at 1235pm CDT.....
Heres the link.....you can see the QF 744 in the upper right hand corner of the shot http://media.myfoxla.com/live/lax/

Anyone know anything? Please advise.

Cheers, Access-Air

This happens at a lot of airports; if a flight is to arrive early in the morning, but not scheduled to leave until the late evening (as is the case with most QF flights from LAX), then the airport authority will prefer it to be taken to a remote position, so that the gate can be free for other aircraft.

Thanks, I appreciate your reply, however, this is not the normal QF parking ramp. If this is aircraft is 107 it should have taken off for JFK......It has not tagged up on fligthaware...

The normal QF parking spots for their early morning inbounds that leave later in the day park on the Northside. So, I thought that this was very strange that it would be towed out to the SW corner of LAX.....I am thinking that it might be QF107 on some sort of ground delay????

That's where QF cargo is. Possibly a special type of load they are putting on that is better to put in right at the cargo area than to bring over to the staging or gate areas?

The FAA has a delay program in place for Mid West/East Coast departures from LAX today due thunderstorms in the central portion of the country.

As of 1030am delays were running about 60mins and increasing.

Wow, that sucks. So they made everyone sit on the plane in the corner of LAX for 60 minutes rather than boarding an hour late despite knowing about the ground stop?

Is that SOP?

AA needed the gate, so flight was boarded and pushed nearly on time.

Not sure if this is preferable to pushing it to a remote stand and boarding by bus. With the alleyway closed that's happening a lot at TBIT and T4 anyway.

As an F or J customer, I'd probably rather board at the gate and sit in my nice seat while the crew served me drinks. As Y pax, probably would prefer to wait in the terminal and bus it to the plane 30-45 minutes late.

For FRI 2 MAY
Up to date flight info of QF107/QF108
QF 107 LAX to JFK . Schedule flight was 0905 to 1720 Actual flight was 0917 to 1911. So that accounts for the flight delay
QF 108 JFK to LAX. Schedule flight was 1910 to 2210. Actual flight was 2040 with an estimated arrival of 2330.

Departure of the flight back to Sydney still has yet to have an updated departure time.

Isn't the alleyway (TXL c-10) re-opened? TBIT gates 105 and 106 are in use.

I was at Imperial Hill today around 2:30pm. I didn't see any QF planes at any abnormal parking spots. None were on the south side.
