Very early still in the assembly line, but beautiful! Can't wait to see it in person.

Yes, confirmed 10 frames but during 2008 only 04 will be received and they will be PR-MUA/B/C/D.

The first 02 will go to FRA and the other 02 to CDG but is being studied to put them into LHR instead of CDG. Ig this happen, than CDG will have 03 daily A332.

Cheers,

Let's discuss something:

What do you think will happen with the frequencies/slots held by RG & O6 to destinations such as MEX, FRA, LHR, MXP/FCO, MAD & CDG. Any clue of when will they expire?

Well, frequencies and slots are two different things. Slots are given by airports and frequencies as per country bi-laterals. The frequencies not used after 06 months could be used by another operator, so this is the expectation. They can be used after these 6 months.

Well, 7 frequencies to FRA will expire in July. LHR frequencies in the end of August. I don't remember exactly when was the last flight to FCO, but it was between the end of February and the end of March, so I guess it will happen sometime in September. The other 7 frequencies to FRA will expire in the of September. Frequencies to MAD and MEX will expire sometime around November 10th. Flights to CDG were extended until the end of August, so they will not expire until the beginning of March 2009. O6's flights were already terminated, right? So their MEX rights expire sometime in October.

Well, I could see JJ flying to GRU-MEX starting November or December. JJ is being successful taking business from IB and UX, so I guess they could introduce a second flight. LHR will get the 77W in my opinion, so the frequencies won't be increased. Richard said that's under study, so I think it will stick, just like the 3x daily to CDG. We could really see a GIG-FRA, why not? But that's about it. The growth will come mostly from larger aircraft.

I guess this is how I think it is going to look like:
2 77W to LHR
2 77W to FRA
2 332 to FRA
6 332 to CDG
2 332 to MAD
2 345 to MXP
3 332 to JFK
2 332 to MIA
2 763 to MIA
1 332 to MEX

Excellent news (if it happens), would love to see TAM @ Ciudad de Mexico.

What happened to Los Angeles, sure TAM will send a 777 to LAX, or at least an A330???? correct, anybody??

It'd be nice to see the 777-300ER at JFK however I'm sure it could be used elsewhere.

With Varig pulling out of the European market again from Brazil TAM will have their hands full.

Out of those, FRA, LHR, CDG & MXP/FCO would be TAM's priority IMO. MEX is coming pretty much as a benefit of the whole package. I really believe JJ is not that enthusiatic in opening flight to MEX and LAX. The first one is suffering from saturated demand and the second is being put on hold until KE flight results are out.

Nothing has been rumoured yet, I'm just guessing, since RG and O6 both pulled out, leaving AM alone once again.

No, I think JFK will be all 332.

Quoting Dellatorre (Reply 14):

GRU is always strong for AM. O6 and RG didn't affect AM, because they weren't real competitors. JJ will most likely be successful, if they enter the market. They have a strong feed at GRU and that makes a real difference.

Yes, the comment i heard is that the A332 flying GIG-JFK can help to reduce delays on JFK operations, nowadays a terrible problem for AM-Transportes Aereos Meridionais (Brazil)">JJ brand.

Quoting Juventus (Reply 12):

I doubt AM-Transportes Aereos Meridionais (Brazil)">JJ will venture to MEX this year. AM, O6 and RG tried more flights and all face problems. TAM may share the market with AM, but both Brazil and Mexico has a lot to do to increase the demand. First is Visa Policy.

Considering the recent expansion to MXP, FRA and MAD, i believe TAM will decide to use the 77W to CDG reducing flights to 3 from 2. CDG use to be the sole destination in Europe but the future shows a partnership not with AF but with LH which means connections out of FRA (as well as LIS already in place). IMO, CDG will become just a O&D market for AM-Transportes Aereos Meridionais (Brazil)">JJ and they have to reduce the seats they offer. The 77W is a powerful alternative and will allow them to grow on other market with the 2 released A332.

Also, to continue services from REC and SSA, i expect TAM not to release 2 frames, but only 1. May be they just introduce the stops on the flight from Rio releasing this way 2 A332. The second could begin a flight to Asia.

This is what i believe will happen:

- 2 763 to MIA from Rio de Janeiro
- 1 A332 to JFK from Rio de Janeiro
- 1 additional A332 to MAD from Guarulhos/Sao Paulo (possible future daylight service as a 2nd flight)
- 2 77W replaces 2 A345 to FRA , 2 77W replaces 2 M11 and 1 A332 to CDG
- 2 A345 replaces 1 M11 to MXP
- 2 A332 to FRA from Rio de Janeiro
- 1 A332 to MUC from Sao Paulo/Guarulhos
- 1 763 waiting for new rights to Santiago or Bogota

What about the other 332s they're receiving? They will have 16 332 by January 2009.

I used 5, 1 to JFK, 1 to MAD, 2 on GIG-FRA and 1 to MUC. 4 to be received and 1 from CDG route (replaced by the larger 77W).

In fact TAM nowadays has 1 A332 used to allow them to do maintenance on the older birds (as well as to install the new F, C and Y class seats). I expect this bird will be assigned to a route by the first months of 2009.

Oh, I'm sorry. I thought you had taken two 332 from CDG. But how come the only difference between your prediction and mine is exchanging MUC for MEX, but I still have n extra flight to CDG? Did I do something wrong?

CDG is TAM's top long haul destination, generating more revenue than any other one!!! Why would they shrink there? So far the code share with AF is still in place and even without it they seem to be do just fine. As you mention O/D between Paris and Brazil is huge (biggest in Europe) and that is enough to grant JJ 3 daily flights. I just don't see the focus being transferred to FRA considering TAM has a loyal costumer base in CDG. IF JJ would launch a 2nd FRA flight it would be certainly from GIG and not GRU and probabaly only next year.

Maybe JJMNGR could tell us if JJ has new plans for CDG!

TAM is getting a bit conservative again regarding int'l services. New destinations such as MUC will be carefully studied before launch.

Dear All,

GIG/JFK will be launched with B763 and TAM will not gave up about their frequencies to CDG, remembering that once RG´s frequencies can be used by another operator, TAM has plenty interests in kept them once AF has 02 flights ex-GIG and 02 other ex-GRU.

It would be nice to see JJ also in MUC, but I somehow doubt it. LH went down to an A343 from an A346 and ZRH and FRA are not fare away and very good connected.
But let's keep our fingers crossed.

25 Dellatorre : I personaly would prefer TAM to reinstate ZRH, but MUC seems to be the getting more credit recently. Hey Richard, do you know when is TAM's codeshare
