Can anyone tell me if Delta flt #1556 is a new interior 738 w/ PTVs on Monday 5/5 or Tuesday 5/6? Boyfriend is trying to book a flight to LAX and wants to try and get PTVs. Any other flights that day have PTVs?

738's with AVOD are shown as 73H which looks like this flight is not one according to dal.com but they do change equipment.....

Flight 1024, LAX-ATL is shown as a 73H so you might get it on that return flight

No, I think that was the last of the domestic 777 flying??? No more ATL-JFK either.

Cool, so no more DL 777s at LAX, not unless they launch some Asian routes out of LAX

Unfortunately, they seem to only be domestic config. and no more business products. I really enjoyed the 101 and 110 between LAX-ATL-LAX, even though there were usually 30 Medallions waiting for an upgrade. Oh well!
At least we now have a 757 between LAX-JFK that is the new 757 Business product. Taking that one in August!

Is there any way when booking a DL 737-800 flight for a customer to tell whether the flight will be a 738 or 73H, or do they just have to cross their fingers? (Apart from asking a.netters, of course  Smile).

Pilot: "Request push, which way should we face?" JFK Ground: "You better face the front, sir, or you'll scare the pax!"

It's too bad to hear that DL doesn't operate 777 on LAX-ATL since i'm gonna fly that route in this summer.
What type of aircraft fly on LAX-ATL? B738, 752 and 764 only?

If they are not flying the 777 LAX-ATL anymore it is recent, since I just flew one on 27 Apr

Sure you can. If the equipment on Delta.com when you book says 737-800 it'll be a NON-PTV 738. If the equipment says 73H, it'll be a PTV 738 with the new seats. They're quite nice actually.

Nolanative,
If you are booking on Delta.com look for seat maps for the acft. For the 738 with PTVs you will find the economy rows up to 33 with 3x3 seating all the way to the last row. (The Non PTV 738s have only 31 rows and on the port side only 31B and 31C. Seat 31A does not exist)

If it's a 757, look for how many seats there are in First Class, If there are any less than 26 total seats in First Class, it'll be a non-PTV 757. There are various configurations, but ONLY the PTV ones have 26 F seats. All others have less than 26.

If Delta.com says 767-300ER then it's actually a domestic 767. If Delta.com says 767, then it'll be an International configured (with BizElite) 763ER. This is highly unlikely though. Look at the 767 seat map and if you have seat 26A on the 767 then it's with PTVs. The non-PTV domestic 767s do not have seat 26A

Hope this helps. Can you tell I fly Delta a lot?  Wink Feel free to ask any more questions if you have any.

cheers,
WindowSeat

I thought they did. I know a DL 777 pilot and he flew the route the other day. But the schedule looks like it is gone. Perhaps he was flying on one of the last flights or as suggested a sub. Perhaps some of the more knowledgeable could shed some light on this.

don't know what the hell is going on with DL's 777s at LAX. In the past I've checked the whole weekly schedules, and shows no 777s schedule to LAX, then I fly into LAX and I see one at the gate or even just going trough the photos on this site.

Is it that they sub whenever the loads are heavy, altough DL's loads to LAX are always heavy. I just have a feeling will continue to see DL's 777s at LAX. very extrange

DL had a recent schedule change which explains the current lack of Widget T7's in LAX.

DL152 LAX-ATL used to operate with a 777 until about a week ago. Now, that flight operates with a 757.

All Delta flights on that day from LAX to CVG are scheduled on 737-800 aircraft with PTVs.
