Italian newspaper "Il Messagero" reports that talks have been going on between Lufthansa and Italian bank Unicredit
about a bid for AZ.

So soon we'll have BD,SN,and AZ all under LH.
LH sure is doing a lot of shopping these days, I wonder what their final purchase will be?

Wouldn't be the first time that this particular newspaper reports false rumours...
If there is one airline interested in getting AZ,it's Air France -they have not abandoned the idea.I can't imagine Mayrhuber all off a sudden getting interested in AZ,just days after their anouncement to put 6 Embraer 195 into Milan and operated by Air Dolomiti.

This is a dementi comming from Banco UniCredit about the article in "Il Messaggero"and denying any talks with LH.....

I didn't hear about that. Nice move from LH. Are there any more details available?
(Sorry, slightly off topic)

As posted above, Banco UniCredit allready negated (can you say that in English?) any talks with LH about AZ.
I could not emagine a deal between LH and Berlusconi where LH could pick out the good parts of AZ and put away the rest. I think Berlusconi would say no to LH as he did to AF.

This story reminds me again and again of the good old Style of "opera buffa". Will it last forever? Maybe.

LH will not buy AZ. They may take some routes from them, some other assets. But they don't burn their money. And now, that OS is for sale?

Why would LH want to walk into a problem worse than it was the last time they looked this over? Unless they can get a better deal now? This would be an interesting conclusion, nowever, to AZ's ongoing woes.

Can I have a mojito on this flight?

Brussels - The European Commission has told Italy to respond within 14 days to its questions on the multimillion-euro government bailout for Italian carrier Alitalia.

The authorities in Brussels, which doubt the regularity of the 300 million euros (464 million dollars) in credit extended to the ailing airline, have given Rome a May 19 deadline to respond, officials in the office of Transport Commissioner Jacques Barrot said on Monday.
