They served JFK, SWF, HPN and ISP in the NYC area however not LGA, at the time it was much more difficult for low cost carries to get slots at LGA.

Wasn't Carnival Airlines mainly set up to fly pax to and from departing cruise ships? I swear I saw them in Miami several times.

They were. And that's one reason LGA didn't matter so much, because it wasn't for business travel, and for everyone who booked "fly and sail" packages, they were told which airport to go to and saved $hundreds and were happy!  Smile But it wasn't a great business for Carnival.

Did Carnival buy the "new" Pan Am at one point? I seem to recall an acquisition between the two at some point.

I'm looking at one of their route maps right now and it says New York City (JFK & LGA). Did they announce service but never start it? The reason I ask is because I don't ever recall seeing them at LGA.

they certainly served MIA. In fact they had a code share with Lan Chile, I flew a 767 from JFK-MIA with full meal service for $200 roundtrip.

It was swell  Smile

Carnival had MIA-LAX service at one point. It started with a 737-400, which had to make a fuel stop in ELP westbound quite a few times. We (HP) did the groundhandling for it when it would come thru. Once they got the Airbus we never saw them again.

The 767 was LanChile's? Cause Carnival only operated as widebody the A300, if I am not mistaken.

There is something special about planes....
