Hello guys!

I am not sure if anyone has posted this in the past but I tried to search and didn't find any (or probably I missed)

My friend sent me this link to a video from the flightdeck's view of landing at St. Maarten (SMX)

Enjoy! (the video starts after a commercial)

Thanks a lot for posting this, jasp. This is a really nice video. What is the airline and aircraft?
I will look at the other videos later.

There was a better way to fly it was called Concorde

I went to the pilot's youtube channel and found out that this is a KLM 747-400 aircraft.

Good to see you again, Madame!

Surprising, as he didn't seem to touch down very early. Or, is that just the way it looked to me? Surely a 747-400 would need most of that runway?

744 pilots at KLM fly both 744 and 744ERF.

The landing in Almaty is in the 744ERF.

Remember the Pilot's eye height will make him appear high compared to a smaller aircraft.

Actually, he touched down right in the touchdown zone, a perfect job.

The best contribution to safety is a competent Pilot.

Those were cool video's. Thanks. I like seeing the shadow of the 747 as it rolls down the runway for takeoff.

Great collection of landing shoots! Real fun watching them all. I must concur with some others posting in saying that the Almaty landing was quite interesting. To say the least!

But then pilots will tell me that it is nothing out of the ordinary!

Any other great cockpit links out there? (Obviously being lazy and not looking for myself nor wanting to get caught looking at too many more shoots on the ol YouTube!)

Thanks for pointing us in the right direction!

Cheers
