Why No AA Code Share On Domestic QF Flights?

I notice that QF codeshares to multiple US cities on AA metal. Why doesn't AA codeshare on Domestic Australian flights on QF metal? With a large US presence in Alice Springs with many government and contract personnel flying here, one would think AA would have a code share flight to ASP.

I will let everybody know that I have no clue code shares work.

Just curious.

My guess is because AA don't fly to Australia. Most codeshares seem to be for connections one airline to another.

I just did a quick search and AA does codeshare on QF's MEL-PER and SYD-PER flights. I'm sure there are a few others, they just probably choose the ones that make the most marketing sense.

I think that they also codeshare on some MEL-SYD flights as I remember seeing AA next to some of the screens a couple of years back.

AA codeshares with QF on numerous domestic (SYD, MEL, BNE, ADL, PER, CNS, CBR) and international routes (AKL, CHC).

As for ASP, not knowing exactly just how large the US presence is there, I would have a guess and say that the market is just too small and there just aren't enough flights servicing ASP to warrant QF wanting to share its revenue with any other partner.
