from what I heard from the guys at the local flight school is that it is an ex Virgin bus that kept having gear malfunctions or collapses....etc, getting parted out....and yeah, it's hard to miss it sitting there, you should be able to see it from Litchfield Rd.
Ok, wait for the RJ to pass, cleared to push tail south Mike, and you're cleared to spin #2 in the push.

She's the VS bird that landed on one MLG a few years back - IIRC the airframe was a little bent ever after but not bad enough to scrap her, and she had reliability issues recently when she was with beewee.
She is a 311 model I think, not a more capable 313X model, and has less thrust and range than the "normal" -300. She was 93 built I think - lovely video of her landing at MAN on YouTube/ FL35 - very graceful.

Quoting KELPkid (Reply 9): Kind of suprised that a certain airline based in the same state (Arizona) didn't snap that one up, it's been rumored that they are looking for A340's from anywhere to start up services to China...
She was a hangar queen I understand - also not sure the lower MTOW 311 could do PHX - China non-stop with max payload.
What do you mean you dont have any bourbon? Do you know how far it is to Houston? What kind of airline is this???
