So what happened to N915FD? According to a very credible source on here, it was the first 757 for FX. There's even a picture of it at MEM right after it's delivery flight.

I believe they went with the 14.5 pallet position for a larger supernumery area. Also allows for a locking door. FedEx likes the locking door since the speargun incident.

So I wonder why it took so long to get this one going? It was the actual "First" 757 acquired by FX, but it will be the 5th one to enter service. How odd? Any ideas??

I was wondering the same. That photo of the first 757 for FedEx was taken more than a year ago. Why did it take so long? Did FedEx change their minds on adding the 757 to their fleet back than and now decided to add the 757 to their fleet anyways?

It will not be a revenue flight..901FE will still be in paint.. The flights at the end of the month and into June are proficiency flights to give pilots and mechanics a chance to learn the airplane. Do not know what airplane it will be but they will be flying 3 x a day for a number of days for about 4 hrs each I have an opportunity to fly with it during the MEM-BFM-MEM runs.
