Just a random search for some tickets revealed this to me:

Qatar Airways has a 767-300 scheduled (at least on the dates i searched Sep 1 and Sep 10).... between DOH and IAD, nonstop on flights 51 & 52. Looking further i see this flight it 6926 miles or 6018 nm. Unless I am wrong this beats the current longest 767 route SVO-LAX by almost 800 miles. Is this the correct aircraft type? DOH-IAD is 14:20 flight time and IAD-DOH is 12:50.

thanks for any replies...

Longest 767 route is MIA-TLV, LY, at 6603mi.

I'm pretty sure this has to be some kind of error, though, I don't think a 763 or 762 can make this route non-stop. Plus, Qatar doesn't have 767s.

QR does not operate the 767.

This must be a code-share flight with either DL or UA

Some error, QR deploys the B777-300ER and not the B767-300ER. They do not have any B767 in their fleet.

BTW which website did you check?

Closer look reveals that only cheaptickets.com posts the aircraft as a 767-300ER. Qatar Airways themselves list the aircarft as a 777-300ER.

i am guessing cheaptickets screwed up.

i searched on kayak.com which searches a large amount of website. Funny thing is i was searching tickets from ORD to MLE and the cheapest routing was on Qatar ORD-IAD-DOH-MLE. I searched again on the same dates for just IAD-DOH and that is when the 77W came up. so i searched again for ORD-MLE and once again the 767-300ER comes up.

Considering that the highest-rated 763ERs have a range of 6105nm with no cargo and not taking wind into account; combined with the fact that QR doesn't op the 763ER... it's pretty obvious that this is some manner of error.

Kayak does this allot. It loves to show Air Canada's '767-200LR' aircraft flying to various places in Asia ...  Yeah sure
