Can anyone report on the new Terminal 5 at FCO? This thing seems to have come out of thin air. As I understand it- it is a check-in facility for flights to the US on American carriers and ELAL flights to Israel. Does it work? Shorter lines? Less waiting? How is the shuttle bus service- as pleasant as the bus from terminal B?

I arrived at C on May 8th as usual, but found I had to check in at 5, all new to me, no signs except outside on the foot path for the shuttle bus to 5. Bus takes you there, a refurbished building, about three minutes from C. A lot better than the other bun rush, go to your airline security desk where they ask you the usual questions, what did you have for breakfast etc, then thru the doors to a rather large checkin area, each airline seems to have a enough desks, then thru screening and onto a bus that thats you to C. Certainly 100% better than the other arrangement, which was total mayhem.

The two times I have gone in that past 3 months, I felt it was very fast. Not much in ques and very open area w/ a good number of shops. I thought it was very smooth both times. Coming into customs was almost rediculas.... I mean we stood for 1 min in line
