Is there any news about this strike and will it really concern ALL AF personel and ALL flights?
PARIS (Reuters) - French unions called on Wednesday for a strike by Air France-KLM (AIRF.PA: Quote, Profile, Research) staff on May 22 to support national protests planned against proposed pension system reforms, one of France's leading unions said.
Six unions including the two biggest in France, CGT and CFDT, backed the strike and called on staff in Paris and elsewhere to participate in national demonstrations on the pensions issue, the CFDT said in a statement.
It did not say how long the proposed strikes would last.

Air France will be affected by the call for a general strike in France, not that much because of Air France's employees themselves, but because of the Air Traffic Controllers who will massively follow this strike.
Other Airlines will also be affected, especially on the Short/Medium haul flights.

Historically, French strikes are like Italian strikes, only there are fewer of them, but much larger in scope.
They last only a day or a portion of a day and only affect a block of time that really wipes out all flying in France for about four to six hours. However, it's long enough to screw the entire day and usually takes 24-36 hours to get everything back on track.
These guys have strikes down to a science.

Quoting KL911 (Reply 3): Damn, bad day for me and my clients then. I thought it was just Air France.
Air France has not modified its program for tomorrow.
Just like last week, they say some flights could be canceled/delayed at MRS (Unions are traditionally strong in MRS area, whether its ATC, Dockers, Airport Ground staff) but everything should finally be more or less normal elsewhere.
