Hello everybody, sorry to bring up a topic that has been discussed quite extensivley in the past, Ive read through all the old threads but just couldnt find the bit of information that Im looking for.

So basically I want to know, since UK/India increased the amount of flights allowed between the 2 countries a few years ago and the UK airlines BA, BD and VS were all allocated an allowance, whats left for any other UK based airline, I reliase their isnt another one in a position to open up new routes to India at the moment but is there any ''quota'' left for them to operate London-India or Non London-India.

I hope the question isnt to vague and your help would be appreciated.

UK-India now have open skies - so there is really no significant restriction to increased traffic between the two.

I think there is a restriction on the number of cities airlines can serve, but essentially open skies with a gradual ramp up of frequencies. BD was allocated LHR-BOM but withdrew because they could not compete with AI, BA, VS, 9W - in fact there are now seven daily flights on the BOM-LHR sector and six on five on DEL-LHR so capacity isn't an issue anymore.
