I have it under good authority that DL will upgrading capacity on ATL-MSY to as many as 6 757's a day for the Fall schedule. DL currently has a 62% market share in ATL-MSY and they are seeing increasing loads month over month in the market thanks to the returning convention business as well as increased business and leisure demand. This capacity increase, if it goes through, will be the largest yet in terms of daily seats in the market since Katrina.
Also, it seems that the CR7 is a thing of the past on MSY-SLC, with DL deciding to stick to a CR9 (which can fly the route without payload restrictions) until traffic warrants a return to mainline.
LAX-MSY and LGA-MSY are both apparently performing well enough to stick around for the time being, which is good to see.
Have you noticed though that on the latest numbers (March) released by the airport, the percent of total MSY market share is completely screwed up for DL?

Yayyyyy!

Thing is though, I'm hoping they make it at least double-daily. Same thing for LAX.
To do a leave-morning/return-evening westbound trip on DL is becoming rather tricky now

Quoting Nwaesc (Reply 2): PARS shows the same thing from 01.Oct.08 ( 6 x757, 1x 738, & 1x M80).
That's really great to see--- I remember just a few years ago when it was rare to see anything with a Widget on it, between MSY and ATL, that wasn't a 757 or 767.

I must have missed them.

I doubt it due to...drum roll please....fuel. But even then, a 2nd LAX on DL would be a long shot. A 2nd SLC will probably happen down the road as demand continues to increase...which it is month over month.

Take a look. DL has surpassed CO in daily seats, but their indicated market share (including DLcnnx) still remains way below CO+COexp... which isn't possible.
Funny thing is, not very many people seem to realize that AA has become the sleeping giant in MSY, so far as Legacies go. Their current numbers aren't that far below what DL had here before the storm. That, and they don't really do any p2p, their flights are straight up hub/focus. Kudos to them.

Even with UA pulling off, and the film/production industry growing again?

I can't figure that one out. Take this month for example. This month CO has been running 1x 757-300, 5x 737-900/900ER, 3x 737-800, 3x 737-300, and 1x ERJ-145 on MSY-IAH...that's a lot of capacity...plus 3x 737-3/5 to EWR and an ERJ to CLE. DL in May has 10 mainline flights total (9 out of 10 M88 and 738)...the rest are RJ.
CO has been running 15 mainline a day and 2 regional jets a day...they are actually #2 in mainline departures behind WN, with 4 or 5 more than AA depending on the season....and they will have one more flight total than AA will offer this summer.

The UA cut is only temporary. The second LAX nonstop returns in mid October. That's how they had it last year. Remember before Katrina MSY-LAX only had three flights...two on UA (2x mainline 320) and one on WN (73G)...so there are actually more nonstop seats in the market now.

Haven't broken it down by model/departure. Unless the entire spreadsheet is completely screwed up, which could very well be the case: right now it lists the Legacy rankings as AA-system in first, followed by DL-system, with a slight lead over CO-system.
