Beirut Airport got busy today and yesterday, and will keep doing so till tomorrow with the arrival and departure of Arab, European and other representatives who attended the Lebanese Parliament assembly to elect a new president after 18 months of vacancy.
I'd love to have pics of the airport, though I know it's not possible. Is there a log of the arriving and departing aircraft?

Quoting OD-BWH (Thread starter): Lebanese Parliament assembly to elect a new president after 18 months of vacancy.
I beleive that the post of president has been vacant for 6 months rather than 18. For security reasons, I doubt the airport would release any log of arriving and departing planes.

I think Lebanon will have a very good season this summer. I've heard most travel agents mention that most seats for the peak summer period are booked and availability is limited.
Some are quoting airfares of $3000AU which is about $800AU more then usual.

Quoting BrightCedars (Reply 3): Seems like ME's 4th A332 will be a nice capacity addition at a right time, when is it due for delivery?
June 23 or sometime around that time frame.

Quoting MEA330 (Reply 6): MEA's 4th A330-243 will start CDG ME209/ME210 RUH ME422/423 service on the 21st of June.
Sounds good, so I assume delivery will be within a week prior to get the flight crew accustomed with it since it will have a different seat configuration from the current A330s.
I can't wait to see interior shots.
Quoting YAK42 (Reply 7): Do you ever see Tu154s at Beirut anymore?
Not anymore unfortunately. Aeroflot flew them into Beirut last summer for the last time I believe.
Now it's all A319s and A320s.

Excluding the normal summer seasonal increases, MEA is increasing Abu Dhabi from 5x weekly to daily and will be starting service to Doha in two days on a 4x weekly basis increasing to daily on June 18. Paris also goes from 1x daily A321 and 1x daily A330 to 2x daily A330 starting June 21 as a result of the delivery of the 4th A330.
I haven't noticed much changes for other airlines although I assume they probably haven't had time to react to the new developments in Lebanon yet.
In January 2009, MEA will take delivery of its first of six A320s so we should see service increases then as well.

Other notable schedule changes:
5 times weekly DXB departure at 02:15AM (in addition to usual afternoon departure ME428)
Daily DOH service using A321
Most other changes are the usual upgrade/increase for summer timetable and summer destinations: NCE, CGN, CPH.
