Quote: You have heard of planes going missing in flight, but have you heard of a jet going missing at the airport? That's exactly what happened at the new Bangalore International Airport on Monday.
Passengers at the newly opened Bangalore International Airport were in for a rude shock when the plane they were supposed to be flying in went missing!
They were waiting to board Indian flight IC915 to Hyderabad, but just fifteen minutes before departure, airline staff could not locate the plane. Indian's crew then went hunting for the craft for 45 minutes.
One of the waiting passengers, Dr Ramesh said, "Just opening new airports is not enough. One needs people and systems in place. They made us wait for a good two hours for the ticket and then in the queue and then suddenly the signboard said the flight had departed."
As angry passengers demanded to know if the flight had actually left, the hapless Indian staff had no answers.
Adding to the confusion, Air Traffic Control did not respond for over an hour, despite frantic calls by the ground staff. It took over an hour to finally locate the flight, which had apparently been waiting on the tarmac for the passengers to board.
Its hilarious! I could not stop laughing imagining the faces of crew answering the queries of the passengers.

I disagree sir. With the poor maintenance in some countries in Africa, you are likely to crash there than India. My friend plans on flying in his home country of India.

Do you mind providing data to back up your ignorant comment? Granted that it should not have taken that long to locate an aircraft but it wasn't that the plane was flying around without getting noticed - it was just sitting on the tarmac - so doubt if any real safety was compromised.
And that 500 hour guy is sitting next to the Senior Ex-pat pilot from the US or OZ who has +15,000 hours and actually does all the T/O and landings. Your statement is naive and has no facts to back it up.
Also, where exactly do the pilots seem to get blamed here? If the plane was on the tarmac waiting for the passengers it seems the flight crew had probably pre-flighted and was wondering themselves what was going on? (Only speculation) This seems the ground staff and flight operations are more to blame.

This is quite amusing, I can imagine it now, the crew walks to the gate and the pilot turns to his F/O and says "Dude, where's my plane?"... turns out it was hiding behind the visiting A380 the whole time!
Bad joke, I know, couldn't resist! I think its safe to presume there were a number of red faces at BLR that day!

As organised and efficient airlines can, or should, be - you would be surprised how often debacles of that level occur. I have experienced many similar events that one can look back on and laugh.

This is not plural of airbus. It is in fact not a word at all.

Yea I know seriously. I love how people just repeat what other people say, I mean, does it make you feel tough or something? I mean, I'm sure he'd get the point after the first two post stating he was incorrect.

Well, this is an international forum and one has to use one's head before making comments....the comment was dumb and insensitive and I'm sorry, but your defense does not change that....

I wonder if the gate agent told everyone, 'Sir, I can understand your concern.' That's what the Dell guys always say when you have a problem with your computer.
