Alot Of Contrails Heading SE Around Heathrow

Has anyone in the Heathrow/Hounslow area seen these contrails today?Most of them are short contrails and they are heading NW-SE.Where could they be from and where are they heading.Thanks,alex

Most probably the majority are a/c coming in from the US, on their way to mainland Europe. They usually come in from Irish airspace, skirt Southern Welsh skies Big grin and thereafter follow an approximate Cardiff-London route, before heading off across the North Sea or the English channel.

Hi Donder,

I don't actually listen to ATC myself, but I'm sure someone else will reply. You could ask someone at the airport (a spotter) or ask in one of the spotter shops, LHR for example; I'm sure they'd be happy to help.
