Quoting Steeler83 (Reply 6): Are they eventually going to launch scheduled service into PHL?
Eventually, perhaps, but with fuel prices so high and new routes like IAD not doing brilliantly on load factors, they'll probably wait a while. Mind you, if US Airways were to go belly-up in the morning, I think EI would in there like a flash.

It was a weird night at JFK last night. The weather was amazing with light winds, yet my BA115 flight was holding for like 45 minutes over upstate NY on the inbound to JFK. The pilots just said lots of volume was the reason, but the airport seemed pretty calm when we landed at 2000.

Quoting SBON (Reply 8): I would LOVE for some more international flights here at PHL, especially year-round service to SNN
One can just dream about that´. If EI even will serve PHL it will be out of DUB,

Saw it last night awsome site. It parked over at Atlantic Aviation where the private jets are and finally took off into the night sky at about 930. Was on the ground at least 2 hours.

Plus they only have 5 333s. So unless they drop a route (IAD?), they would need to wait until new deliveries start at the very end of this year. EI has for some time had PHL as a top priority new destination. Aside from the different service levels, I always thought EI should have coded with US from PHL - with EI providing the flight and US the connecting traffic.
