Well there goes another MD-11 pax operator The 77W will sure look good in their livery. What customer code does TAM have? Will the Aircraft be fitted with 9 or 10 abreast Y seating?

Quoting Jfk777 (Reply 3): Finally a fleet of TAM airplanes from Seattle not Europe. Those 777-300ER's will be great flagships for TAM and ambassadors for Brazil.
As if TAM´s fleet consists of European aircrafts only.

Quoting SA006 (Reply 15): 10 a breast isn't all thaaaat bad. Emirates pull it off quite comfortably in their 77W's. Still not ideal though
Being on a ten-abreast 777 many times, I will never fly on such a configuration for more than couple of hours. Regardless of seat pitch, 10-abreast on 777, 9-abreast on Airbus widebodies, and 8-abreast 767 suck period. End of story. Any airline with these config on where I will be going will not be getting any of my business.

Quoting C010T3 (Reply 8): No, they're scheduled for conversion.
I believe they were supposed to be going to Aeroflot Cargo, correct?
However with the recent issue concerning the Russian government and the acceptance of the MD-11F fleet I wonder if they will instead end up with Fed Ex or UPS like many of the other ex-Brazilian MD-11's.

Quoting C010T3 (Reply 8): he customer code is 2W. It seems it will be 10-abreast. 7F/56C/302Y, apparently
KLM 2 x B77Ws also have 10 abreast. However, in terms of configuration, what a world of difference if compared with KL B77W. I just arrived in GRU with KL B77W and the configuration is the opposite, only 35 C seats the rest Y with more than 400 seats in total...but plane was FULL to the nose. I was on seat 1J and C class had 2 downgrades...
On the other hand, TAM, with more planes, and more passengers, I really dont know how they will handle the sitiuation in terms of ground service. TAM ticket office in GRU is understaffed and the situation is becoming critical, with 1h waiting time becoming normal for a simple service of changing a ticket....

26 Ktachiya: Wait!!! Which airbus widebodies (other than the A380) have that many abreasts? I mean isn't the A330/340 all 8 abreast? And all B767 are 7 abreast? I
